  • Volunteer as part of South Coast Botanic Garden’s Pup Patrol and help with wayfinding, answering guest questions, and making sure dogs stay out of "Dog-Free Zones" 

    • Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 15 or older to participate without being accompanied by an adult.

    • After getting confirmed: volunteers must create an account through volunteering portal on the website. Volunteer Portal Link. After creating an account, each volunteer will be prompted and required to sign a waiver. If the volunteer is a minor, a parent or guardian is also required to sign the online waiver.

Habitat for Humanity LA Torrance ReStore!

  • Help out at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where you will be helping sort through unique donated items from contractors, companies, movie & television studios, and individuals. They also need help with furniture assembly, greeting customers, loading cars, and more.

    • Please bring a water bottle.

    • Sneakers or work boots are the only shoes permitted. Anything with an open toe is prohibited.

    • Worksite-appropriate clothes (items you are comfortable working in and getting dirty; ensuring items do not have offensive graphics or words; no loose garments that could easily get caught).

    • Shirts to cover shoulders (no tank tops).

    • Long pants or jeans; no baggy clothing.

    • No jewelry that dangles or that can become entangled.

    • No cell phone use while volunteering.

    • All volunteers must wear a name tag or badge.

    • Volunteers are not allowed to operate any motorized company equipment.

    • All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Volunteers ages 14-17 must have a parent or guardian complete and sign the Minor Release Form below. 

    • Please fill out and bring your Volunteer Form packet with you when you come and volunteer with us for the first time at any ReStore location.

    Once confirmed, the chair of the event will contact you with the volunteer form packet, as well as the steps required to register for the event.

    We will be outside, so please dress appropriately.

    Paper and markers will be provided, but if you would like, you can bring your own materials like coloring materials, colored paper, and scissors.

    Keep in mind the rules:

    1. No holiday themes

    2. Do not mention the kids’ current conditions (ex. “Get Well Soon!”)

    3. Please avoid making cards with any details that may fall off in transit (ex. glitter)
