Missing or incorrect points 1. What do I do if I notice an error on the points spreadsheet? Fill out the questions form on the "Points" page to notify our Secretary.

In-Person Events

Attending events 1. How do I know if I was picked for an event or not? Members who are picked to volunteer at an event are usually contacted 4-5 days in advance. If you have not been contacted by then, you were most likely not picked to attend.

Conflicts with events 1. I signed up for an event but something came up. Who do I inform? No worries! You don't have to inform anyone unless you are contacted by the event coordinator because you were picked to attend. In that case, when they ask you to confirm that you are still available, you can let them know.

2. I was picked for an event and confirmed that I would be attending but something came up. Who do I inform? Please let the event coordinator know as soon as possible so they can contact someone else.

Tutoring

Tutoring services (for parents) 1. Which grades does CSF offer tutoring for? CSF offers tutoring for K-8th grade.

2. Is tutoring free? Yes, tutoring is free.

3. What is the tutoring schedule? / When are tutoring sessions? The tutoring schedule is flexible and is determined on an individual basis between your family and your CSF tutor.

4. Is tutoring online or in-person for 2021-2022? Both online and in-person tutoring options are available. You will decide with your CSF tutor.

5. Where does in-person tutoring take place? Students and tutors will meet in-person at a location such as a public library, small cafe, or the student's home.

6. What are the COVID-19 safety guidelines for in-person tutoring? To ensure the safety of our tutors, we ask that everyone present at an in-person tutoring session wear a mask at all times. Please do not attend any in-person tutoring sessions for 10 days if your child or the adult accompanying them has symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19. We suggest rescheduling planned in-person sessions as online tutoring sessions.

Requesting a tutor (for parents) 1. How do I request a (specific) tutor? Go to whscsf.org/requestatutor and click on the "Request a tutor" button to open the sign up form. If you would like to request a specific tutor, please write their name in the comments section of the form.

2. I requested a tutor but have not been contacted yet. When will I hear back? / Is there a chance that I might not receive a tutor? The CSF Tutoring Program only operates from around November through May each year. While our program is active, available tutors will be assigned as soon as possible, though it may take a few weeks for us to reach out to you. Please note that due to a limited number of available tutors, we cannot guarantee a tutor for everyone who requests one. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

3. What should I do if my child's tutor is no longer available to continue tutoring them? If your previous tutor has not already notified us, please send an email to westhighschoolcsf@gmail.com to make sure that we are aware of the situation. We will then assign a new tutor as soon as possible.

Becoming a tutor 1. I signed up for tutoring but have not been contacted yet. When will I hear back? Tutors are assigned based on availability of students. If there is a shortage of students for tutoring, tutors who signed up early will be prioritized.

2. If I signed up to become a tutor in my CSF application, do I need to sign up again on the website? No, you only need to sign up once.

3. There is someone who wants me to tutor them. How can I make sure that I am assigned as their tutor? Please have the tutee's parent include your name in the comments section of their request for a tutor. To submit a request, they must go to whscsf.org/requestatutor and click on the "Request a tutor" button.

Tutoring for consecutive semesters 1. If I was a tutor during first semester, do I or the parent of my tutee need to reapply for the program? No, you will automatically continue meeting with the same tutee.

Tutoring points 1. How many points can I get from tutoring? You can earn a maximum of 35 tutoring points, but we ask that you commit to your tutee for the entire semester.

2. What should I do if I do not want to tutor anymore? There is no penalty for not wanting to tutor anymore, though we strongly encourage you to continue tutoring until the end of the semester in progress, if possible. Then, please let your JTC know so that we can assign a new tutor to your tutee.

3. How do I keep track of my points? Use a Tutoring Log to keep track of all tutoring sessions. Go to "Tutoring" > "Tutoring Logs" in the navigation menu at the top of the website.
